2024 5th International Conference on Smart Grid and Energy Engineering (SGEE 2024)

The 5th International Conference on Smart Grid and Energy Engineering (SGEE 2024), hosted by East China Jiaotong University, organized by the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering of East China Jiaotong University and the AEIC Academic Exchange Center, and co-organized by Hunan Institute of Science and Technology, concluded successfully in Nanchang on November 23.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Chen Xi, Dean of the School of Energy and Electrical Engineering, Hunan Institute of Science and Technology. The opening addresses were delivered by Guo Junhua, Dean of the Graduate School of East China Jiaotong University; Zeng Xiangjun, President of Hunan Institute of Science and Technology; and Li Zewen, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, East China Jiaotong University. Several leaders attended the conference, including Ding Yi, Vice Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University; Lu Jiazheng, Dean of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, Changsha University of Science and Technology; and Wei Baoquan, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, East China Jiaotong University.




The conference invited Professor Ding Yi, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, and recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars; Professor Lu Jiazheng, Professor-level Senior Engineer, Doctoral Supervisor, and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Disaster Prevention and Reduction for Power Transmission and Distribution Equipment; and Professor Zeng Xiangjun, recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, pioneer of traveling wave fault location technology for power grid faults and flexible grounding technology for distribution network neutral points, to attend the conference in person and deliver keynote speeches. IEEE Fellow Professor Udaya K. Madawala, a renowned expert in the field of power electronics from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, delivered a keynote speech online.

In addition, the conference specially invited Professor Pierluigi Siano, a globally highly cited scientist in the field of Italian power systems and smart grids from the University of Salerno, Italy; Associate Professor Shi Xingyu from Changsha University of Science and Technology; Associate Professor Gao Bo from East China Jiaotong University; and Assistant Professor Xie Xiangmin from Qingdao University to deliver invited speeches.

The conference also set up two parallel oral presentation sessions, where multiple scholars from universities, enterprises, and research institutions shared their reports on relevant research areas. Three recipients were selected on-site for the "Best Oral Presentation" award. Meanwhile, following rigorous evaluation by experts, the "Best Paper Award" was presented during an on-site ceremony


The conference attracted experts and scholars from multiple universities both in China and abroad to gather together, with over 200 participants attending either online or onsite. The lively atmosphere on site fostered in-depth discussions between domestic and international experts and scholars, presenting a content-rich, high-level, international, and forward-looking academic feast.
